Both teams showed a great performance, but the United States performed a tactical and smart game. The final score was 20-3 (5-0, 8-1, 5-2, 2-0) for the USA.
In the first Preliminary Round II, Australia beat the top-eight nation Montenegro thrillingly by 2 goals, with a final score of 13-11 after penalties. The lead changed twice with Montenegro forcing the shootout, which the Aussie Sharks converted 4-2 to book a clash with Hungary.

Today was the last day of Men's Preliminary rounds.
The first match between Hungary and South Africa seemed to be a piece of cake for team Hungary. Hungary beat South Africa 5-23. We have written a detailed article here on the match.
Then, New Zealand and Spain competed. Spain won this match
Tamás Märcz's team beat South Africa 23-5 in the last round of Prelims, and they got into the quarterfinals by winning all three rounds. Their next match will be on Tuesday in the morning, and their opponent will be either Serbia, Montenegro or Greece.
