Champions League – Brescia beats Barceloneta surprisingly easily

The game between Brescia and Barceloneta was thought to be a great battle, but the Italians managed to win pretty easily and they jumped to second place in Group A. There were no thrills in Group B though.

Group A

Brescia beat Barceloneta at home and jumped to second place. The Spaniards did not even lead for a moment and after 3-3, the Italians scored 4 straight goals shutting down their opponent for 7 minutes. They maintained their lead through the second half and added a bit more to jump to second place. Figlioli was Brescia’s top scorer with four.

After putting up 26 on Trieste in the weekend, Pro Recco put up 16 on Eger while only conceding 7 goals. It was a dominant effort by the Italians, who remain spotless in the Champions League. The other Hungarian team, Ferencváros had a much better outing as they easily beat Crvena Zvezda at home. There was 10-3 on the scoreboard at halftime and a whopping 10 players found the back of the net for the green-whites. Both teams scored double digit goals in the Steaua-Dynamo game and the Russians came out on top.
