Champions League: Change in Plans

There are more and more teams where members are tested positive for the virus, therefore, LEN is thinking about a new form of how to play the Champions League onwards.

As known, there are a total of 12 teams in the main group, and their travel would be in the favor of COVID. Hence LEN is planning on dividing the teams into 4 or 5 groups and the teams would meet just every once in a while in a location. With this type of plan, the team’s travel could be minimized/controled.

There are two solutions LEN is considering. Firstly, the teams would play 2 matches in each stage in March, April and May. The second option is that the there would be 4 stages where in November and April, the teams would play three, and in December and March, there would be two matches.
