FINA: New World League Dates Confirmed

The International Swimming Federation, FINA has announced the new dates for the 2020 World League. The remaining matches will be finished in 2021, which means that the 2021 World League will not be held.

The Men’s World League Quarterfinals will continue in January, starting on January 12, 2021 with the European Preliminary round. Then, the Super Final in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi will be from June 26 to July 2, 2021. The three medalists and Georgia, as the host, will play in the Super Final.

The Women’s World League will resume in February. The Super Final’s location is still under discussion, but the event is postponed to June 14-20, 2021. What is also certain is that a total of 8 national teams will play, four from Europe and four from the Intercontinental Cup tournament.

The Intercontinental Cup qualification tournament, for both men and women, will be in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA from April 26 to May 2. The top 4 teams will qualify for the final tournament.
