The Terrassa Olympic Area was the scene of the match of the day, in which the locals, Terrassa has already qualified for the group stage of the Champions League, faced CNA Barcelona, who let the victory escape in the final moments when Dídac Cobacho’s team scored the equalizer.
Waterpolo Tenerife Echeyde got defated by Real Canoe NC after winning the tight game of a final score of 10-8 (2-0, 4-1, 2-3, 2-4). Real Canoe NC had a 5-goal lead before half time which caused an unfavorable result for Tenerife. However, the boys of Juan Pablo Sánchez did all their best – their loss was mainly because of the lack of success in extra player opportunities.
The next match was conducted between Terrassa and CNA Barceloneta. Host Terrassa started the game unluckily when the score was 4-7 for the visitors. However, they netted four unanswered goals in the third quarter, gaining a one-goal lead of 8-7. The last minute of the game seemed tense as Barceloneta was still leading, but Terrassa’s Barroso earned the equalized score for his team for a final score of 12-12 (2-4, 3-3, 3-0, 4-5).
Last, but not least, CN Catalunya began the domestic competition with a huge victory against rival CDW Navarra, who paid back for not preparing enough prior the League. The Catalans greatly defeated Navarra 17-7 (3-2, 3-2, 6-1, 5-2) after causing a visible “damage” to them.
Matches between CNA Barceloneta – Mediterrani, Mataro – Sant Andreu and Sabadell are set to be played on 2 and 3 October respectively.
