The Croatian National Team Could Be the Best Team of 2019

According to FINA’s rating system, the Croatian team performed the best at the World Championships, wrote Totalwaterpolo that I Love Water Vízilabda also posted on its Facebook page. The points earned are based on the World Championships and World League performances.

Ivica Tucak’s team placed third in Gwangju and placed second at the World League, they earned 220 points. Team Serbia, with a first and fifth place, earned 210 points. These are not official yet, as we will only get the final results in December. We will also know who is the best player and coach of the year.

So far the point are the following.

Men:
1. Croatia 220 points (World Championships 3rd, World League 2nd)
2. Serbia 210 points (WC 5., WL 1.)
3. Italy 205 points (WC 1., WL 9.)
4. Spain 200 points (WC 2., WL 4.)
5. Australia 160 points (WC 6., WL 3.)
6. Hungary 150 points (WC 4., WL 5.)

Women:
1. USA 300 points (World Championships 1st, World League 1st)
2. Australia 180 points (WC 3., WL 5.)
3. Russia 170 points (WC 5., WL 3.)
4. Italy 170 points (WC 6., WL 2.)
5. Spain 165 points (WC 2., WL 9.)
6. Hungary 140 points (WC 4., WL 6.)

Olympics and World Championships rating system:

1st place 180 points
2nd place 140 points
3rd place 130 points
4th place 100 points
5th place 90 points
6th place 80 points
7th place 70 points
8th place 60 points
9th place 40 points
10th place 35 points
11th place 30 points
12th place 25 points

World League rating system:

1st place 120 points
2nd place 90 points
3rd place 80 points
