Universiade – Women’s Finals – Hungary is the Winner

The Hungarian women’s national team beat host Italy 8-7 in the Finals, and won the University Games with no losses!

As it was expected, the game was tight in the beginning. At the end of the first period, the game was tie of 3-3. Then, the Hungarian team took off, and by end of the second quarter, team Hungary was leading 5-4. After 3 quarters, team Italy was two goals behind. The last quarter started with a  Hungarian goal, and then had a 3-goal score difference. However, team Italy was then able to catch up, closing the gap to 8-7. 

 
The Hungarian national team stood on the top of the podium for the first time after three silver medals (2009, 2013, 2017). Attila Mihók and Márton Benczur’s girls earned Hungary a second gold medal in Naples.

Today, Canada and the Russian Federation competed for Bronze medal. Canada lost to Russia 7-22, making Russian place third.
